Before anyone of us, steps into the gym. We may meet a lot of people who’ve a substandard education about the supplementation. And that’s the reason why the wrong information goes viral and leads to a “Myth”.
This shouldn’t be the case. Supplements are made for a reason. Many foods are shipped long distances and are stored for long periods of time, both of which cause the depletion of vitamins in these foods, including the important B-complex and C vitamins.
We have to recognize that we would not get all of the nutrients—the vitamins, the minerals, the protein—through regular meals. This is why we have supplements. No matter how healthy we eat, we won’t get enough from regular meals.
So here’s the list of five essential supplements and their myths :-
Myth- Causes Liver and kidney problems.
Truth- Whey protein is food, plain and simple. It is created in the cheese-making process. Also, after a workout is one of the best time to get protein into the body so that the protein can be delivered to your muscles. Since, solid foods takes more time to digest. Protein shakes only take about 30 minutes to reach the muscle after ingestion. Definitely, we can see the advantage to taking a protein shake.
Myth- Cramping and Dehydration.
Truth- There is no study or research that has proved that creatine causes crapming or dehydration. Instead, supplementing with Creatine has been proved to increase total body water, helping to maintain hydration.And a supplement that can be used on any goal weather it be fat loss or to build muscle.
3. Fat burners
Myth- Fat burners are a waste of money!
Truth-Stimulant free fat burners like l- carnitine is worth every penne. As researches and studies prove that it can help your health and performance in the gym. For example, it can help with weight loss by using your stored body fat as energy. Protect your health serving as an antioxidant.
4. Fish oil/ Omega-3
Myth- Only people with heart disease should be taking omega-3
Truth-Fish oil or omega-3 can be consumed by person.It may provide to support a healthy blood cholesterol profile already within a normal range. It provides bone health support. It provides you mood support as research show having fish oil in your diet supports the level of serotonin in the body, which is also said as ” feel-good Hormone.
5. Branched chained Amino acids. (BCAA)
Myth- BCAA’s are thr most overrated supplements in the market.
Truth- This is not true. The branched chained Amino acids are as important as whey protein and creatine.It consists of valine, leucine, and isoleucine, make up approximately 1/3 of muscle protein. BCAA’s reduce muscle fatigue, speed recovery, decrease the loss of other amino acids from muscle during exercise and help the body absorb protein.
